My Skincare Routine

Hello and welcome back all my lovely readers! It's been a longer than expected gap in my writing again, but that is all due to the weather and being out and about more I'm afraid. Today though there are no more excuses and I'm excited to share with you all my skincare routine.

In previous posts I've spoken about having oily skin which always proved difficult when trying to find the perfect foundation. I then started using the St.Ives facial scrub daily about a year ago, then moisturised in the evenings which seemed to bring on some improvements.

Although I still found problems when applying my foundation, which would be building up on my skin. As well as having unwanted small lumps under my skin, which aren't spots or acne. Just clogged up pores which have built up over time. Which I will admit is not the most attractive thing I've ever said, but this space is all about telling you the honest truth and that's what I will continue to do.

Which now brings me to today's post. I've made some massive improvements when it comes to investing in my skincare routine. Don't get me wrong I still have days where I simply can't be bothered to do it all twice a day, but I've found myself pushing myself more and more to really keep it up. The results I've received were definitely worth pulling myself out of bed in the mornings!

My 3 Step Skincare Routine!

Step 1

Product: L'oreal Gel - Cream Wash
Skin Type: Dry and Sensitive
How often do I use it: Morning and Evening

This product helps to cleanse, purify and soften your skin. All you need to do with this is apply to your face with water and rub in circular motions. Once all rubbed in, wash off with warm water and towel dry.

Step 2

Product: L'oreal Pure Clay Detox Mask
Skin Type: All skin types
How often do I use it: 2-3 times a week

This product helps to cleanse your skin again. After your skin is dry from the first step, you then apply a thing layer over face. After 5-10 minutes the clay mask will have dried, bringing out all your pores. You then use warm water to wash off.

Step 3

Product: L'oreal Hydra Genius
Skin Type: Normal and Combination Skin
How often do I use it: Morning and Evening

This product is to be used instead of your daily moisturiser. It helps to leave your skin smooth, soft and hydrated and the first two steps. It also stops your skin from becoming oily throughout the day.

Three- four month update:

I am still absolutely loving these products although I have found it hard to keep up with the daily routine. Instead what I found myself doing is using the face wash 5-6 times a week, this will be either the morning or evening and the number will sometimes increase depending if I've worn makeup or not.

Instead of just using makeup wipes to remove my makeup, I have picked up some great tips from another blogger and now find myself always useing products 1 and 3 after every time I wear makeup.

The face mask has become a twice a week routine which is still used with the face wash and hydra genius before and after routine presented above.

Another product I have absolutely fallen in love with and now find myself using every second day, is the Clean & Clear blackhead clearing 2-in-1 wash & mask. This product has been an absolute dream for clearing all the marks I've had on my cheeks and I swear by it to anywho is suffers with their skin.

There have been some really incredibly differences between now and when I first began my new skincare routine. I would love to hear what products you use and if you have had the same results using these products.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, until next time.

  1. Great to see you are back blogging! I love reading skincare blog posts because my skin bloody annoying. I keep meaning to pick up one of the L'oreal masks but I keep forgetting.

I'm currently using some products from the Tea Tree range from The Body Shop and also the Garnier Skinactive purifying tonic gel and they seem to be working really well for me, definitely helping to keep my skin pretty clear x

  2. That mask really does sound truly miraculous! I've got oily skin as well and can't quite cope with the way foundation feels by the end of the day, to say nothing of the effect it has on my skin over time! I do wear tinted BB cream with SPF and even that's a bit hard to take.

  3. Great post! I suffer with oily skin too, and especially this summer since I ruined my skin using a Garnier micellar wash (don't try it!) I love the L'oreal clay mask - it's great as a spot treatment too. I'll keep an eye out for the moisturiser as the one I use currently isn't available in the UK, so it's always good to have a backup!
